TB Testing FAQs

  • When can I get a TB skin test?

TB skin testing is available by appointment at our San Marcos clinic six days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays. We are currently closed on Fridays. Because your test must be read 48–72 hours after placement, appointment availability will also depend on ensuring we can complete your required reading within that timeframe.

  • When does my TB skin test need to be read?

Your TB skin test must be read 48–72 hours after placement. Your $65 price includes both the initial placement and your return visit for reading and documentation. If the test is not read within the required timeframe, a new test may be necessary.

  • What happens if my TB skin test is positive?

A positive TB skin test does not necessarily mean you have active tuberculosis (TB) disease. If your test is positive, additional medical evaluation and testing, such as a chest X-ray and/or other testing, may be needed. We will provide documentation of your skin test result and recommend appropriate follow-up with a healthcare provider.
